PERISTALTIC HOSE PUMPS

Peristaltic Hose Pumps
Blackmer was incorporated in 1903 and is the leading manufacturer of positive displacement pumps, centrifugal pumps and compressors for the transfer of liquid and gas products. Blackmer products are used in a variety of industries including LPG, Chemical Processing, Refined Fuels, Petroleum, Military & Marine and the Mobile Transport industries.
The principle of the peristaltic hose pump is based on the alternating contraction and relaxation of the hose forcing the contents through the pump and into the discharge piping. A smooth wall, flexible hose is fitted in the pump casing and is completely squeezed between two shoes on the rotor and the inside of the pump casing. The rotating action moves the product through the hose at a constant rate of displacement without slip. The hose restitution after the squeeze produces an almost full vacuum that draws the product into the hose from the intake piping. The pump casing is half-filled with lubricant to cool the pump and lengthen the service life of the shoes and hose. Since the product only contacts the hose and not the internal pump components, this pumping technology is very suitable for abrasive and corrosive applications.
From viscous and/or abrasive sludges to water thin, non-lubricating fluids, corrosive chemicals or sheer sensitive materials, Blackmer's Abaque series peristaltic pump is the technology of choice. Due to the unique operating principle of this pump, typical applications span from wastewater to chemical processing to food manufacturing.
Available in 9 different sizes that provide flow rates of .07 to 211gpm (15 to 48,000 L/h).
Will handle abrasive fluids with little wear since only the hose and hose inserts are in contact with the material being pumped.
Since only the inside of the hose and hose inserts are in contact with the pumpage, aggressive and contaminated fluids can be processed without the devastating damage experienced by other pumping technologies.
Hoses are constructed of natural rubber, Buna, or EPDM within the pump's casing, provide high levels of volumetric accuracy for sampling, transfer, and metering applications.
Ability to pass solids in the material being pumped.
Dry-run capability allows tank and line stripping.
Seal-less design eliminates leaks, contamination and wear problems associated with difficult to seal products.
Self-priming up to 29.5 feet (9 meters).
Reversible operation allows pumping in both directions.
Durable construction of ductile iron and steel construction allow higher discharge pressures up to 217 psi (15 bar).
Low maintenance requirements of the hose and shoes.
